An idle moment.

Amy sat under the canopy of the grand station. Sitting on a low wall, she watched the world go by, as she often did when there was little else to do. She had always loved travel, and in particular the railways. They reminded her of the old days, back in England, where as a small girl, her grandfather would take her on trips away. There was something about the noise, and the size, that made a train almost spring to life, like some form of tame monster. To ride a train was an adventure in itself. Railways always wrote stories, things happened on trains that didn't happen on other forms of transport. People had written poetry, murder stories, romances, songs... where the train had been the key. The Orient Express, The Flying Scotsman, The Eurostar... all conjured up images of glamour and excitement. You just didnt get that with airlines.

Of course for most of the people who gathered on the platform today, they had a less romantic vision of the railway. They were simply going to work, or to an other town, or maybe to visit friends. The train and the railway were just a means of getting somewhere else. She watched as a railway worker helped an old woman with her luggage. She watched as a teenager studied the faded schedule on the station wall. She watched as a businessman paced nervously up and down, constantly looking at his watch.

"Must be running late" she thought to herself. Trying to imagine where he might be going, or indeed why he might be late at all.

The rain was coming down heavy now, and it bounced angrily off the canopy roof. The morning mist had long lifted, and the cool air was fresh. With little sunlight getting through the thick cloud, Amy's senses were near their best. She could almost hear the vibration in the rails as somewhere in the distance the train approached. She knew it was coming, long before the dazzle of the headlamp came into view.

She thought for a second. Maybe it would be fun to get out of town for a day. See where she would end up. Life in Blansko was fantastic, but it was also a little dull. She felt the urge to just spice things up a bit.

Or maybe just stay where she was... It was going to be one of those endless, indecisive days for the young vampiress

The thought process was destroyed in a second. A woman with a young child sat talking to another traveller... then before she could react, the young boy dropped his toy. it bounced several times, moving dangerously towards the tracks. Instinctively, the child ran after it, and towards the tracks. Amy saw it out of the corner of her eye, and pounced. With un-natural speed, she leapt up, grabbed him by the hair, and pulled him back, only moments before the train shot into the station. The toy came to a rest, inches from the edge of the platform.

The kid squeeled, and his mother glared. All she saw was a young, red haired girl, with her hands on her son. Amy just smiled and winked. She had saved the kids life, but guessed the mother would never believe that. No one would ever believe the pale skinned girl with the heart tattoo.

"You ought to keep him on a leash" she sneered.

Leah watched as the child was saved from death thanks to the red headed woman. For a split second she shut her eyes, she did not want to watch the fate of the boy. Exhaling slowly from not hearing bloody screams of a mother, she opens the eyes to see everything was fine. Thinking to herself that the mother should have been more careful and count her stars. Leah smiles slowly watching the scene for a few moments before the people on the train unloaded. She was on her way to enjoy a simple ride herself, she had no idea where she was going, but she just wanted to ride the train. There was something about trains that made her think of the old days, where trains were the new thing instead of the cars.

As Leah stepped aside from the crowd her fingers rubbed against the wedding ring she still left on her finger. It has been a rainy day, she felt lonely once again, she use to dance in the rain and let if wet her to the bone. She struggled with finding joy in the world these days. Every day she seems to fight with her daughter more and more, the very last thing she ever wanted to do. She wanted to scream out loud for some answers but she knew full well no one here could help her. Cecilia was getting out of hand and Leah will have to start looking for outside help.

Leah's thoughts were interrupted as someone rudely runs into her and nearly knocking her off her feet. She hated when people were in such a rush they cannot see another human being in front from them. Biting her tongue from saying anything she decided to let it go. She had worse problems then idiots at a train station.
